magazine change

I bought a model 12 action and want to rebarrel it to 308. The question I want to ask is can I take the baffle out of the magazine and put a 308 follower or do I need to change the magazine also. Thanks

If the model 12 was a .223 size case the feed rails may not let the .308 case to sit up high enough to feed. I would just pick up a new magazine box and follower and don't forget to change your bolt head to .308 size. You can pick all of this up from Jim at Norhland Shooters.
