Called the factory. That is the "average" wait time on a production center fire rifle that isnt in stock at any supplier. WOW, I knew Savages were good, but to be that far out on demand is a good thing, I guess ?? And I thought it was just a LEFTY thing. ::) :o ;D

I don't think 20 weeks is bad at all. If you want a custom action (Bat, Panda, Stiller, ETC) you would be at a mimum of a 1 year or more wait time for them, and you looking at twice to three times the cost. Just about everything in the firearms industry has infated wait time as of lately, due to the increased panic buying, that has happened over over the last 3 years.

Looking for/at the FLCP-K in .308

I would expect to wait "some time" like 4 to 6 weeks for a custom rifle. The sponsor of another site (LRH) says he can turn around a left hand in that time. Would have gone that route to begin with but he didnt have (doesnt stock/make) any in .308 and his price was a bit out of my league even if I "settled" for one of his calibers. Just more suprised than anything that a "production" rifle would be that hard to find/get. Rude awakening for sure. As it is the first rifle I have ever purchased (many scatter guns but not rifles) as I have inherited the ones I have. So now I know. Like my dad used to tell me: "looking for work is easier when you are working" makes the search a lot less painless and the wait tolerable. So I will look for/order my next rifle long before I find myself needing/wanting it for fun or hunting. In the mean time I learn from you good folks more and more about why these are such sought after rifles. It is TRULY great to see Savage doing so well.

This store has the gun you're looking for. Once you purchase the rifle, they will need the a ffl to ship the rifle to. That person/business will then fill out the proper forms so the government can know you purchased the rifle.

Thank you for the tip/link. I must admit that at ONE TIME I was willing to "settle" FOR THE RIGHT HANDED ACTION. But I couldnt even find one of those! But I'm looking for a left handed version of that gun. Seems like both sides are pretty sought after. I'm not by any means the greatest in internet search's. And usually good for about the first 3 pages that come up from a search. But I'm still lookin.
Thanks again.

Sorry about that, thought that every one of the rifles I searched for would have been the left hand version. But for a 20 week wait, you might as well build ya one.

Yes I did. And he had a couple of left handed guns, none in .308. More dead ends than at a Motley Crew concert.

Buy a left hand action from Northland and build what you want. you'll be shooting much sooner than 20 weeks.
