I'm looking for a decent rifle to shoot matches out to 1000yds at my gun club. I'm considering the 10FCP-SR. Does anyone out there know what the thread pitch on the muzzle is? I couldn't find the info on the Savage site. I would like to put a removeable brake on it so I could shoot NRA F class, which doesn't allow brakes, when I get to that level. Anyone know of an effective removeable brake that will fit the factory threads? I like the Badger Ordnance FTE but I think the barrel would require additional modification to use that particular brake.

I'm sorry if this isn't the correct place for this thread. I know this room is for '110' posts. I didn't see a specific room for short action discussion. If I'm in the wrong place please direct me to the correct room. Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

.223 will be 1/2-28, and 308 will be 5/8-24. These are considered standard thread pitches for 22 and 30 caliber, respectively.
