Richards Bench Rest Thumbhole Stock

I'm thinking about ordering one of these stocks. I have done some research and know about the fitting and finishing and am prepared to do that. I guess I'm looking for opinions about this particular style and possibly some pictures of them since the website doesn't show more than the two angles. Thanks

I have one on order right now (Benchrest thumbhole in Tigerwood no forearm vents with the 1" Decellerator butt pad). Still should be about 4 more weeks before I get it. If you wait, I'll be happy to send you some pics and a review...

heres a couple i have of my buddies 6.5-284. this stock is monstrous in size, we took a lot of material off of it. for comparison, the bolt knob is the large bt style and the barrel is full bull. Yes it required a lot of sanding and shaping but it looks nice in the end.

That would be the "Thumbhole Cheekpiece Bench Rest" model (and in Tigerwood too). I noticed the different verticle grip - did he order it that way, or did he cutomize it?

I'm planning to "re-work" mine (Thumbhole Bench Rest) when I get it. I selected the 3" fore arm, but I do not want it going all the way back to the bolt. I plan to cut it back to the barrel nut and taper it toward the muzzle. I may also do some triming/shaping on the forearm as well to reduce weight and get a sharper gadient to the barrel channel.

For me, I think that is the joy in these stocks - you can really go to town on customizing them and then finishing them out as nice as you want. They look fabin the ned ;D

i agree i would look better if the forend wouldnt go back so far and he requested that there be extra wood left around the grip area so we could sand the grooves in it
