Neal:

On the barrel length, did you mean to list it as 26" I'm a fan of the Barnes TSX bullets and those will be among the ones I will try. Here is a picture of a 9.3 Barnes 250gr. TSX taken from a cow bison:

Knowing Neal's posts, I'm sure he didn't mean 26" ;D

The picture depicts the tool and barrel length!

I do have a Nitrided 26" 1 in 16 barrel I was testing last Christmas time though. Let us say velocity was obscene and no one would believe if I published the velocity.

Neal:

Wow! that is an awesome gun and ditto on the velocities. That would make some javelina rig for our HAM season; Handgun, Archery or Muzzleloader. A Savage Striker might be in my future.

My little woman is debating on using this cartridge or the 6.5 WSM for her sheep hunt the second week of August.

I sent the twin to this barrel pictured to a friend in Idaho for mulie season a couple years ago. The deer crumpled at the shot. It did not even attempt a step. Pretty much what I have seen from this little hotrod. By the way, I haven't got the barrel back either! It seems to be a bit explosive on rockchucks.

I saw a nice clean Savage stainless striker in 243 Win. with the muzzle brake and a Bushnell scope for sale. It was relisted about three times with a Buy Now and a reserve price. Finally, someone hit the Buy Now price. I now regret not buying it, but had a few rifle project ideas kicking around. I always thought Winchester should have brought out the
6.5 WSM with the great 6.5 bullets available.

Mine's a straight 22/243. It get's 3200 - 3300 fps with moly 75gn A Maxes.

Matches the Nightforce 600 HV reticle perfectly.

Cheers,

Matt
