I appreciate everyone's help ahead of time!

I just bought my first Savage, a slightly used non-accutrigger, 110 in .270 Win caliber.

This gun has the factory wood stock with no metal pillars. The action screw closest to the recoil lug
pulls up against a plastic/nylon bushing. See below:

This bushing keeps deforming and is keeping the action screw from getting really tight. I want to replace this before I glass
bed the action. I see no point in glass bedding the action if I can not get it to bolt up tight after wards.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get this cheap piece of plastic out of my stock?

Thanks!

If it doesnt have pillars i would start there, or you'll have the same trouble even after bedding.

Then this pc will come out when you drill for the pillars. And you can pillar bed and glass bed all in one process.

Thread a tap that is slightly larger than the hole into the plastic bushing from the top. Use a hammer to tap the tap and bushing out the bottom of the stock.
