Greetings! The gummy bear recoil pad on my model 10 Predator Max tore off a (large) piece at the toe. Does any one know if they are glued or screwed? Any recomendations for a replacement?

I think the only way you can get a replacement is to call Savage for a pad and instructions.
You could replace it with a Pachmyer Decelorator.

Thanks. I will not be using a factory pad. Something more substantial, for tree leaning and stuff.

The factory gummie bear style is very effective against recoil, but they do tear easily. A chunk ripped off mine at the toe too. The packmeyr decelrator pad is much more rugged but it doesn't absorb the recoil as good as a gummie bear. If you take a philips head screw driver, lube it with oil and take the two screws out you'll have to feel around with the screw driver to engage it. You should be able to see 2 indents in the pad where the screws are. I took mine off and put on a limbsaver slip on medium size which fit perfect and is very effective.

Regards,
Dan

Ditto on the limbsaver. It has almost as much recoil absorbtion as the gummy bear.

I love the limbsaver. They go on all my guns that need pads.

Since we are discussing recoil pads, has anyone used both the limbsaver and the kick eez pad and can compare/contrast the two?
