If you just need one or two pcs. I use the wire from and old spinner bait. It's 40 thou., and works great. Been using it for many a year now.
Good shooting to you.

Ace is the place!

Most Ace Hardware stores carry various sizes of music wire.

+1 on Ace Hardware or other real hardware store. Big box home fixer stores wont have it.
A piano shop or music store is another good bet.

Hobby shops that sell R/C airplanes will have a display of all types/sizes. I went with .035 and it works great.

Jerry's a great guy for doing it for free.

I got some from Jerry but after I used it all up I got several pieces of buzz bait wire from a local tackle shop for free. Of course it might not have been free if my brother and I had not just bought new rods and reels there. Buzz bait wire is heavier than spinner bait wire.

Try McMaster-Carr for almost any type of hardware.
