Savage 12 # 223 bull barrel questions

Hello,
first post here so i have some questions on a rifle that i took in a trade deal a couple weeks ago . it's a model 12 in 223 has a 20 inch bull barrel and has Savage 4X4 on the bolt i haven't been able to find any info on Savage web site so i thought i would ask here . i think I'm going to keep it it shoots .5 @100 with my hand loads i have ordered a new stock but until i receive it i have been playing with the original stock to make it more user friendly, i did thread the barrel and will try different brakes that i make to see which one i prefer , anyway can anyone shed any light on this model ?
