i have a 93 btvs and wondered what purpose the recoil lug has on a 22 mag rifle and can it be adjusted to allow barrel to sit straight in the stock.Mine has barrel sitting to the right side of the fore end, if i move it to the right the barrel straightens up, i'am assume it pushes it to the right.

The recoil lugs have a set screw in the center, and they slide in a dovetail. You can loosen the set screw and move the lug by hand and straighten out the barrel placement. Then lock the set screw back down.

will this affect accuracy ???
