I've been thinking about hunting for many years and this year I decided what the he!!. Was bent on getting a .308 only to find out that in the state of DE only shotguns/pistols were legal. So I started my search and decided on the model 220 slug gun. However there was still the desire to get a .308. Long story short I ended up with 2 new weapons (snuck in the .308... now I just need to tell my wife.)

Setup:
Model 10
McMillan Stock
Harris Bipod
EGW base w/Burris XTG (Med) May need to switch to low rings... will find out tonight
Burris MTAC 3.5-10X-42mm

Will post some pics after it setup. Look forward to learning and sharing.

Welcome to the forum.
Any Marine is an asset in my book!
SEMPER FIDELIS!!!!!

Nice choice of rifle and an even better choice of stock.

I have a 111 with a nut less 26" SS PacNor #2 chambered for the 280AI in a McMillan Savage Classic with a 20* EGW base with Weaver Extreme rings holding a Burris FFII 4.5-14x42 with TAC II elevation turret.

This is a really good place with a ton of good info to be had.

Enjoy!

Welcome to the brotherhood ! Don't have either of the firearms you mention. Does sound like you made some excellent choices in equipment though ! Plenty of ex- Jarheads here too ;) Not sure why, but they all love the .308 ;D

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for your service to our country. Where about in Delaware are you located? I'm from Milford, De.

If you ever want to join a great Gun Club there is one located in Bridgeville. They have Benchrest setups from 25 to 600 yards, and the are working on a 1000 yard range. The also hold F Class, and Benchrest shoots during the year.

Thanks everyone for the welcome!

Delaware Ken- I live in Camden and own a coffee shop off Route 8 in Dover. I've heard about the range in Bridgeville and a friend of a friend is a member. Hoping after I get setup up he will take me out there. Looked a while back online and believe they're not accepting new members but will check again.

In any case, if you're ever in the area stop by for a cup.

If I get up your way, not only will I stop by for a cup of coffee, I'll drop you off a application for The Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club. You do have to be a member of the NRA to join. Don't pay any attention to what the Website says, A buddie of mine just joined last week. Just where on Rt. 8 are you located, and what's the name of your Coffee Shop?

Thanks again for the big welcome.

Just as I figured... Need low rings vs. med.

Good news is the rings will be here on Thursday! Will be lapping them and getting the scope mounted. Pics will follow.

I'm sure she has "snuck in " a few pairs of shoes and purses over the years. Those two guns look close enough to each other that you can probably make out ok on that end. That rifle looks great! How is it shooting for you?

Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Plan on zeroing it tomorrow but still debating on what ammo to use initially. Will post first impression after that.
