Could I convert a 308 bolt to a 223 by changing the bolt face only?

I hope and think so. I have a 308 M10, bought a .223 bolt head with a baffle, put in an extractor and it seems ready to go. Switches easy.Probably won't feed, but I shoot SS only. Looking for a 223 head size bbl now, also thinking hard about 300 blkout.
Hope so;

To convert the bolt, yes, head change only
To convert a rifle requires a magazine change as well
Either one is an easy change

this is just me but I would change the barrel also.

Ya beat me to it. I was gonna say yes, but the accuracy wouldn't be anything to brag about with that .224 bullet going down a .308 tube! :o ::) ;D

Or you could just use electrical tape or duct tape around the .223 bullets. A few wraps of tape and you will get to .308 caliber. Then the bulllets wont bounce around going down the barrel. This way you can just buy a .50 cal barrel and pretty much shoot whatever you want through it. ;D

Sarcasm is just one of the many things we offer here at the SS forum.
