Gang,
Wanting to know what you all are using for your 300 Wetherby. I'm wanting to be in the 180-200gr range maybe some 165. Elk rifle. It is vanguard s2 24" barrel.
Thanks.

I've loaded for the weatherby for years, but I'm unavoidably 250 miles from my data. What I can tell you is Fed 215m primers and a pile of Norma MRP or R-22/25, with great luck with 180 grain boattails, and both 190 and 210 bergers. I found the 190 to be a great balance for holding energy and resisting wind. That being said, the factory weatherby ammo is pricey but hard to beat. Factory 180gr loads were consistantly crossing my chrono at 3240-3260fps with a 26" barrel. I also liked to load those little 110gr vmax w/ IMR 4350 for a great little plinking load, didn't push them as fast as I coult have but they used to cut the same hole in the paper at around 3750fps. Was always impressed the didn't fragment when they left the barrel!

Go to the Weatherby forum - lots of info there on loads for a particular Weahtehrby caliber. I picked up enough hints there to develop a load for a 30-378 that's just deadnuts accurate in his gun....

This is also a good site for all things Weatherby http://www.weatherbynation.com/spikecamp/category/, I also shoot a 300wby but its from the 50's and has a real slow twist so my data wont help, but check out the nation, they should be able to help.
