I'm a barrel swap junkie but to tell you the truth, it's getting a little tiresome to continually remove the scope, swap the barrel, replace the scope then go out and bore sight it all in again. There has got to be a better way.

I think this is why Thompson's are popular
But good scopes for each barrel = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Any suggestions for situations with an extended scope rail that over hangs the barrel nut...?

No nut, barrel vise and internal action wrench. ;)

No need for him to do it, North Korea prints it for him.

I think Sharpshooter has the right idea - more actions!
I pm'd Blue Avenger - his pictures look to be exactly what I want to do. I can modify the barrel nut wrench this evening, I just need to locate an action wrench as is shown in the pics.
I'm still thinking about more actions though - hmmm, maybe a couple more stocks too so I don't need to remove anything.......

Because you do not know it is that long! You have a depth mic to check yours before you put it in?? Most screws are right on the edge or just over enough to put a dent in the barrel before they bottom out. Go pull yours out and let us know how many touched.

I use a spanner wrench and a barrel vice to change barrels. I do not need to take off my scopes then.

There is an article by Norman Johnson on Longrangehunting.com and how he did it. It was on the homepage a few days ago.
