New barrel

Just installed a new 308 barrel on my 110 action.Headspaced using go/no go gages and all seems fine but... When I chamber a virgin Lapua case,or even a FLS one,the bolt is very hard to close. Should I just trust the gages and let the cases fireform when fired or back off on the headspace a little bit? :-\

they will fire form larger, not smaller!

did you size the brass? If it was me (and it ain't of course) I would full length size my brass and headspace from the brass with a paper or tape shim.

Did you put the action in the stock AFTER you set the headspace? If so, I bet your front action screw is screwed in too far.

No,action screw is not too long.I did it over and this time using the case as go gage and then checked w/no go gage.Things feel alot better now.We'll find out Saturday.
Oh,and how do you keep the barrel from turning when tightening the nut?
