I am looking at stock ideas for my short action/stagger/ sporter barrel. I know the duramax is made for a varmint barrel but I see some guys are using those stocks with sporter barrels. How stupid do they look with the big gap? or is it tolerable? or should i just look at a carblite?

it is tolerable in my opinion.

It will have a gap on each side, but will look fine.

I feel they are undersized a little for a varmint barrel anyway. Most of the ones Ive had i have had to open up the channel for a standard varmint barrel to clear nicely.

Hard to tell from the picture and I cant find the close-up picture, but here is a duramax I had with a sporter barrel in it.

You certainly won't have to worry if the barrel is floated when it heats up!

Thanks for the pic pdog. And nope, no question if the barrel would be floated. It looks fine in the pic...hmmmm

Were you by chance able to find that closeup?

No. Sorry, I must have deleted it or something.
