OK so after adding a bigger extractor ball and swapping ejectors to get my 16 to actually function like a bolt action, I've decided that I should try the ejector spring but that little bugger is stuck. Which is probably why it won't eject 1/2 the time...I'm guessing it has a kink or something.
I was thinking about running a small drill bit down the hole but wanted to ask the congregation first. Any tips on getting the spring out?

I've stuck a couple with hot loads. Soaking them in Kroil or my special mix sometimes helps with a sharp whack on a 2x4.
I've heard that some have had to chase them out with a drill bit.

What I did was run a toothpick inside, it allowed the spring to run over it a bit and just be pulled out.

Thanks guys, it's funny you mention hot loads. I try not to hotrod loads but I had a heck of a time finding a load that this rifle would shoot with 34gr midsouth bullets. The only thing that shot well was close to max for this rifle @ 28gr IMR8208. I don't really care for how they shoot so I'm switching back to Hornady V-max (or Z-max ::))
