RCBS Competition 2 Die Set

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of learning about reloading, and I came across this on midwayusa.com last night. Does anyone have experience with it? One of the reviewers said it is for semi-auto rifles only, but I'm not sure why...

Just got a set in works great love the side window for loading your bullet, had to put a shim between the bullet seater plug and adjustment knob to get the proper seating depth for my 168 gr Berger target bullets

That includes a 2 die set. One full length sizer die and a comp. seater die. My advice to you is get a standard Redding 30.00 set and start there.
Many accurate loads have been fired from standard dies. Start simple and learn what works and won't make any difference. The factory chambers
made today require no neck turning or "Comp" dies. In fact turning a neck for a factory chamber is futile. Now a custom chamber it's necessary.
After a while when you know what you want/need spend the extra money. Forrester, Redding, RCBS, it's a Chevy Ford Dodge question...

I Have these dies in .223, 30-06, 22-250. I use them when I seat short stubby flat based bullets because with a drop in window it does not pinch your fingers.

I use nothing but the RCBS Comp seaters. Swap internal parts to fit the caliber I want. ;) .221 Fireball, 22 BR, 6BR, 6.8 BR, .308, and a few others. ;D
Standard dies like have been mentioned have loaded "lots of good ammo" with no problems. Start slow and work up till you get the type of gear that you think is best.

Great. I already ordered these earlier today. So there's nothing wrong with these though, just overkill for me being new to it? I hope I didn't just waste my money.

I use the Gold Metal Series, but almost the same thing!

Most of the time "overkill" is the way to go. 8)

I use the seater die, for my 6 PPC match guns. I like the design of dropping the bullet in the side, it is a nice feature. The die works well, I have been very competitive with it.
