Although I have seen the Model 14 in both stainless and blue, I think I have only seen the 14 with wood stocks.

And while I have seen the Model 16 with both wood and synthetic stocks, I don't recall ever seeing a 16 in blue barrel.

Is this the difference? So, you end up with gun that has both a wood stock and a stainless barrel...do you have all the features of both the 16 and 14...or is there some other difference between these two models?

The 14 and 114 are blue and wood, with the exception of a special run of ss. The 16 and 116 are ss and syn, however the Safari model was ss and wood, but that has been discontinued. I hope this brings some clarity to the question.

So...if you have wood AND SS in the same gun...it could essentially be classified as a "special run" of either the 14 or the 16. LOL. Gotta luv it.

Well, if a big distributor orders enough guns, the factory will make pretty much any configuration they want. You want something special and a non-standard item? Sure, just buy 500 of them! :)

Some are already made that way at the factory.
