Not sure if i even spelled it right, or if this is place for it to go so feel free to move it.

I was just wondering if anyone had tried jeweling bolts/slides ect. Pics would be helpful, would like to know what compounds you use and what you use to make the circles. I have an older book that suggests Aluminum Oxide dust and a Rubber Polishing Rod, or a pencil shortened to chuck in a drill using the eraser end....also says that you can use a small wire brush. Thanks in advance!
Henry.

My friend uses a pencil and lapping compound.

I have used a roled up pc of course sandpaper, the kind with a cloth backing. Whichever way, do it on something else round first to get the hang of it.

Terry is correct. 600 grit should be fine.

Get a piece of steel rod of about the same diameter as your bolt and practice on it. Do it once leave it set over night and look at it again to see your mistakes. It may take several trys to get it right. If you do not like what you see on your first attempt take 400 grit paper and erase your work and experiment some more.

It is much less expensive to mess up the rod than your bolt.

Good luck and lets see some pictures of your new pride and joy.
