I've ordered an FLCP-K in .308 and the guy tells me it could be a 6 week wait. Savage's web site says that the gun is "in stock". Got the "cant wait to get my hands on it" itch. Just wondering if anyone had ordered a left handed model 10 lately. In the mean time I have my old Winchester (that will be retired soon I hope)

Not sure who you ordered it from, but I doubt that they buy direct from Savage.
Typically gun shops buy from a distributor(like a Davidsons), that distributor may well be out of stock.

Yea, you are prolly correct. Doubt they purchase directly from the factory as well.
Thanks.

I got my Model 10Predator Max 1 in 6.5 Creedmoor in less than 10 days. My local FFL deals with various distributors.

Maybe this will help you feel better....Not a Savage but, I called Kelbly's yesterday to order a left handed Atlas action. The guy on the phone said it'll be ready in about 6 month's. They only come Left/left or Right/right...you'd think they'd have a few in stock (at least I did). The wait begins...

I got lucky, My shop had a right hand FLCP-K in stock. I'll warn you, it can be one of the most boring and predictable guns you will own. I mean how much fun is it to know exactly ware the shot is going to go? ;)

Yea, that sucks. Hope THAT wait is worth it. I kinda figured that a left hand or two would be laying around somewhere as well. Sucks being right minded sometimes.

Ptisnipe, I too have a model 88 .308 left to me by my father. First yr production he bought when it was 1 yr old. I recut the checkering so it looked right, it sharp and deep now. Wont be retired. I take it hunting first day of the season for Dad's memory. I have no sons or grandsons so my youngest daughter retiring from the navy in June will get it if she wants it.

COOL!! My father had put his on "lay away" (a term not used much anymore) in 1955 and paid it off a few months before I was born 4 years later. And promptly shot a 4 point Mulie in Northern Ca that fall.
Thank your daughter for me for her service. If you dont mind me asking what is her rate and rank?

pitsnipe, She is a PO1 Safety equipment specialist, Naval air with 6 trips to the gulf. 5 navy commendations and a flag commendation. Gold stripes from her wrist to her shoulder. They wont give her Chief PO unless she ships over for 6 more years Even though she passed the test in the top .01%. She joined at age 24 so she will be 44 when she retires and says she doesnt want to be 50 and still in the navy. That policy stinks. It soured her outlook on the navy, now she cant wait to get out and start her riding acadamy. I will forward your thanks.
