I am loking to try some F class comps this year and want some new glass. I have a 4x16 Primary Arms on it right now. I think my max yardage will be 600 yards. Whats my best bang for the buck at $500 or less? I need ideas and help withthis as i have never spent anywhere close to this much on a scope and there are so many to choose from. Everything else on my build is complete and this is where I am lacking. I have been looking at Vortex. Whats your thoughts? Thanks

Take a look at the Vortex Viper scope 6.5X20. Go to their web site and browse their offerings.

Same cal. same objective...

I went with the Sightron SII 36x42mm BDR. I have found that the optics are clear, but do not have the contrast or light gathering that my Leupy VX-3 has (no surprise there as the price, tube size, and objective do not dictate a fair comparrison). Still, this (or it's older brother Weaver T-36) seems to be a frequent choice in F class competition gven your same criteria. fixed has it's downside (mirage), but think carefully about the fact that mirage is still present even when you do not notice it. So having the ability to read mirage IS a plus (but very anoying and therefore not always desireable. If you do not feel you can live with a fixed power scope and learn to read mirage, then obviously this would not be the right choice for you. Like I said, the mirage is still there even if you don't "see" it... (so if you don't account for it your POA <> POI)

+1. I just bought one from Killough Shooting Sports (www.killoughshootingsports.com) for $370.00, which was the best price I could find.

Good luck!

Share where you got that price? Unless it was used.

I can find a 3-9X40 in that area. But, not yours.

Help us out.

Thanks Charile. I didn't look past the mil-dot, BDC to see it was only on the v-plex and the 44's not the 50's. Guess I better look a little closer next time.
