I've bought a Savage Model 12 6mmBR in the Bench Rest configuration, for 600yd bench rest competition.

I'll probably buy a 30mm scope, and need some help with what mounts/rings are best for this set up.

One piece mount? Two piece mount? Picatinny? Weaver? Etc. Etc......

Thanks,

George

As far as mount go, I like the EGW, one piece, 20 moa rail. They make them for the round back and the flat back receivers. As far as rings, i lke the Burris Signature Zee rings and the heavier tactical series.

I agree with texwelder, I use the exact same setup, EGW base and burris XTR tactical rings that he mentioned. very sturdy and wont let you down.

Just make sure you mont that EGW correctly so it doesn't place any stress on the action.

Great feedback....thanks.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "mounting correctly" in this case? What do I specifically need to look out for?
