Bought a box of bullet for fun, Hornady 75gr V-Max.
Sunday I went to the range with 10 round to see what kinda speed I was getting, my aim is 3250fps.
I Loaded them with some IMR-4320, 37.5 and 39.5gr and measure the speed: 2976 fps and 3115 fps, + 5 celsius, and didnt really take my time to let the barrel cool down, anyhow the accuracy was not too bad.

OKAY, I need 135 fps more.
I load some round.
using my favourite: IMR-4320 then IMR-4895 and IMR-4350 just to give a try.
Got some interesting result today...

The IMR-4350, 45.0gr ..LOL far to be THE powder but still 3100 fps.

Now the IMR-4895 41.7gr = 3335 fps a bit too fast to my taste for my 20 inch barrel, and accuracy is not as good:

Now go back to my IMR-4320 , W/ 42.5 gr OUCH 3390 FPS...Wo....
Way too fast: but had to fired it...

Okay, back on track with the last one,
IMR-4320, 40.5gr 3212 fps, I think I like this one.

Hope you appreciate it!
My barrel needs to cool down now, steaming hot.

Nice! My .223 shoots that good as well. Hopefully the .30-06 I have on order will do the same.

Did you do the trigger job on this one or is this as-is out of the box?

My Axis in 25-06 prefers the 75 Vmax as well. One thing I noticed with it though is it realy likes cold weather! Dont know if it the stock, powder, barrel or a combination of all three but changeing powders didnt help and letting the barrel cool between shots when its warm only helped a little. have yet to move the bipod stud back on the stock but hopeing that helps with groups and muzzle jump?

Well. Looks like I need to get youth models . 13" is a good lop. ..from your chronograph results your getting enough speed . Have you tried it with any of the 90-105 grain bullets . ??

Nice shooting!! I bought both of Axis rifles in the youth model because I didn't like the 14 1/4 in LOP on the standard Axis either. I'm 5' 10" with a long reach and I think the youth model fits perfect.
