anyone ever use "bondo" or body filler on your tupperware stocks? was wondering how it holds up to recoil. i want to widen the fore end and fill in some voids on the inside of the stock.

I modified a tupperware stock heavily using bondo. Did a lot of mod with it. Have not had an issue with it not sticking or coming loose over time. Have shot 243 and 308 in this stock. It has been sitting doing nothing for some time because of mistakes I made in not keeping the bottom of the forearm level with the rest of the stock. There have been reports that the bondo will crack over time, I don't know this personally. It may be worthwhile to cover with a layer if fiberglass and resin.

Something else to consider is that bondo is a porous material and will absorb moisture. Which is why unpainted or primed bondo on a rig has rust under it when ground off.

You can mix fiber glass strands cut from fiber glass mat (A.K.A. chop) into the bondo. It will act like rebar in concrete. :)

I've done a little body work over the years so try some of this for filling it's called kitty hair. ;D

i like the kitty hair! i watched my father in law use it on a couple nose cones on some body work he was doing. thanks for the ideas.

I've modified a stock using spray truck bed liner before. Turned out pretty nice.
