Hoping someone here knows- what are the needed pillar lengths using the Savage factory or compatable DBM? I can find them all day for Remington but not finding for certain on the Savage.

McMaster Carr has alum. 1/2 by 1 1/4 with a .25 hole. I finish them to length and use a 5/8 Fostner bit for the hole in the stock.

you probably wont find one that is an exact fit. Just buy the ones you found then trim them to the correct length.

I just measured the front pillar on my factory synthetic 116 dbm stock. The pillar measures .44"

These measurements will vary though depending on what stock you use.

I can make them- what I need is to know the lengths required. It shouldn't vary stock to stock as this is what sets distance for DBM's.

The front one can be most any length, however the back one will need to be custom made. It has to fit between the action and the trigger guard. I chuck it into my drill press to finish the ends and then I cut some notches in them to hold in the epoxy better.

I find it easier to cut the trigger notch in the back one after I have installed it. If I cut the notch first I have had trouble keeping it perpendicular to the action.

Front cant be any length- The pillars determine distance from receiver to bottom metal. Bottom metal determines where the mag sits and if will feed properly.

Hi,
Check out the post below. I had the same question a while back, then got a stock and measured it and made up some pillars. Its in the aftermarket stock section.
