Wondering who would be the least expensive vendor. What are the average shipping rates for just a riflestock? I'm going to be putting up a couple of stocks for sale, and I'm wondering what the shipping is gonna run someone.

Thanks fellas,

Kevin

I think shipping a stock has run me between $12 and $15 depending on carrier and destination. Going from a 50 year old memory though. :-)

Depends on how you wanna ship it. I ship all my items USPS Priority, and include full insurance value and delivery confirmation. So that way my @$$ is saved and so is the buyers. On a stock it seems like it'll run anywheres from $14-18 total, depending on how far it has to travel.

If you put in the ad that it will be shipped that way, then the buyer will know upfront that it is insured and tracked.

Oh, it would be about $14-18, unless you ship it to Canada or anywheres outside the US.

Last one I shipped to Canada ran me almost $50 with no insurance, and only confirmation to the US border. The rest was a coin toss. But I made that clear with buyer before I sold it to him. Sent him and email copy of my PO receipt and I was done with it, and no refund if it didnt show up. It made it to him but took 29 days to get there!! I wont ship anymore outside the US after that mess.

If you dont want to ship there either make sure you note it in the ad.

With just regular shipping it can definately be shipped alot cheaper, but you are at the mercy of the shipping company by not having any insurance and no way of tracking it. If it gets lost or damaged when shipped this way then you'd be SOL.

I think it will run more now, Postal Service has had another rate increse I believe. I know it ran me more than that when I shipped a stock and added in insurance and delivery confirmation.

Like Keeki, I shipped a complete rifle via FedEx for $16.28 including $600.00 insurance. The key here is that since it was a complete rifle it had to go to a FFL dealer. It is much cheaper to ship to a business than to a private residence with FedEx.
