Is there a serial number listing for date of manufacture for the 93R17 ? I just bought a NIB that doesn't have the accutrigger. Yes I was aware of it at time of purchase. Just thought all of the Savages after 2006 were made with accutriggers.

If you go to Savage's website and click on the store link then click on the parts finder link it will ask you to put in the seriel number for the gun. That may give you some info on the gun. Brian Brown.

It just said MOD 93R17 FNS 17HMR.
What does the FNS stand for?

It's not uncommon for dealers to have obsolete models sitting around on their shelves or in the back room.

As for the FNS, typically F= synthetic stock and NS= no sights on the centerfire models. Never seen the NS attributed to a rimfire though as the only no sight models are heavy barrel models so they just use a "V" (i.e. 93R17-FV).

If you call Savage they will tell you after providing serial number ;)
