I want to replace the factory stock on a 112 in 223. Will a long action BVSS stock fit?
Thanks, Ken

start by measuring your screw spacing to find out exactly which 110 you have. then we can give you a correct answer.

OK. I can measure the spacing but I thought all long actions were the same.

I measured it, roughly 5.1" center to center on the action screws.

ok, then you have a true long action and not one of the short action 110s

You did not say if it was an old 110 or a re barreled newer 110

I am new to Savages. I was under the impression the 112 was a standard length 110 action fitted to handle the 223 cartridge. I still have the same question, will a long action BVSS stock fit this? The stock on the 112 is very thin and flexes plus the barrel is laying against the stock. I saw a BVSS in the marketplace and am considering that as well as a Duramaxx. Just wanted to know if the long action BVSS stock would work with my 112 barreled action.

Thanks, Ken

What Blue Avenger is refering to is the fact Savage's first attempts to make a rifle for short action type cartridges used a long action, like the 112. There were two versions I know of. The first one had a bolt spacing of 5.062 like all long actions. A later one had a bolt spacing of 4.42. This was before Savage designed a real short action. I think any stock with 5.06 bolt spacing should work except ones made specificaly for a Savage Center Feed. If this is going to be a hunting rig check out Boyds stocks for Savage. They have laminate and walnut and will checker them for an extra $50. Most of thier stocks are under $100.

Thanks for the info. The intention is for a bench gun to put holes in paper. I am looking at the BVSS as well as a Duramaxx stock.
