I just got a old 110 la 223 thinking of rebarrling it longer tube and new stock going to be a hunting gun

Are they small shank or large shank and any ideas on cal or may still be 223

They are small shank. For deer I would go 280 or 30-06.

I have a 22'' 243 barrel less than a 100 rds a bolt head and a mag I,ll be putting up soon

243 stocker or aftermarket and it will be a yote gun sorry about that

deerhunter85 if you stay 223 all you need is a barrel. If you switch to 243 you will need a long action .473 (30-06) bolthead.
You will probaly have to drill it out to fit a large firing pin or buy a small firing pin. If your bolt body has the alignment notch it
will have to be ground out. You will also need a short action staggered feed 243-308 mag box and follower.

Thank guys I think it well end up 223 for 75 or 80 with a 1-7 twist but who knows if I find something else that I don't have to change bolt face maybe I change my mind

The rebarrel to .223 isnt a problem. All you need is the barrel. A stock to fit that older rifle may be a problem. If your mounting bolt spacing isnt 5.062 you may not be able to find a 110 stock to fit. What you have is Savages first try at using short action cartridges in a rifle. There were at least 2 different mtg bolt spacings before they built a real short action. Later iterations had a 4.52 bolt spacing. If yours is one of those good luck with finding a stock. You cant even gete one from Savage.

If you going to shoot the 75 or 80 grain bullets, I'd go with the 1 in 8 twist barrel. I have the 1/8 twist in a 223AI and it shoots the 80 grain Bergers extremely well and is no slouch with the 75 grain A-Max.
