Anyone remember where to buy the disc and ballbearing that fits in the bolt to reduce cocking force? It works, I had one before, but I can't remember where I bought it.
Thanks

I believe the "disk" is the head of a .38Special case and the ball bearing should be available at any auto parts or bicycle shop.

nothing will replace shooting the poo out of it. there is a comment on here somwhere where it took 1k rounds to get it smoothed out and easier to cock.

i have 2 target actions one new and one used the used one so much better than the new one wish i had known that!

I was told before that once you get your Savage, sit down with it, watch some TV or something, and cycle the bolt about 500 times or so, that will smooth out the bolt, it worked for me.

This would be for the accu-stock gun that have the cocking indicator in the back of the bolt. SSS sells them , and the original gunk button, for the other style guns.

I think that model 14 is asking about the thrust bearing that someone was selling. It is a disc with balls in it. The disc in question was plastic if I remember right.

The one I was asking about was the one from stockadegunstocks.com. It worked really well and was cheap. Itis a metal disk, with an indent in the middle which centers a small ballbearing, The .38 special cutoff base and ball bearing would probably work as well.

When I ordered one from Stockade, I got the 38 case.

Dremal tool with polishing pad and compound on the mating bearing surfaces, then a touch of gun grease.

The lift kit from stockade is steel and is not a .38 special case cut off.I t sells for 7.50 and he will mail it out and you will have it in 2 to 3 days.

This here is something to consider! STP works too.

McMaster carr has the bearing. But You need to space or shorten the BAS.

Which part makes it work better- the steel, or the cost? ;D

I'll stick with a .38 case and a ten cent bearing without having to wait 2 or 3 days.
