I found a Savage 110 in 243 with a blind magazine and a wood stock. Someone shortened the stock by several inches and screwed up the end of the stock where the butt pad should fit. On Auction Arms I found a model 10 synthetic stock with blind magazine for sale cheap -- but the short action stock won't fit the long action 243...isn't that correct? thanks in advance. Roger ???

you need to measure the distance between the action screws on your 110. It will either be 5.0" or 4.5". This will tell you which action you actually have.

If it is 5" then about any stock for a 110,111,112,114,or 116 will fit it.

If it is 4.5" you will have a very hard time finding a stock to fit it, as these were not popular stocks for the aftermarket stockmakers to produce.

A model 10,11,12,14,or 16 stock will not fit your action.

Hope this helps

heres a good read for you that may help explain it a little better, and also shows some pictures.

Thanks, pdog06. Mine is the 5 inch version long action (lucky me). And that extra thread on the different actions was a great read. I appreciate your help. Guess I'll go with straightening the end and installing a pachmayr decelerator.
