112 22-250 rechamber

picked up a nice ol 112 in 22-250 today with the 26" fluted stainless
Id like to know if I can re barrel and chamber this into a 300 RUM?
Also what does the f stand for in the serial?

f series, as the made what they thought were significant changes, (triggers, magazines...) they would change the series letter
