I am building a 300 RUM off a Savage flat back long action SF to use off a bipod for long range hunting and off a bench for 1k yard paper punching. It will have a 26" barrel and will not be braked at first, but probably will be eventually out of necessity. I was going to use a B&C Duramaxx stock that I bought used, but that dang stock only weighs a couple of pounds. I am guessing the rifle overall probably wont weigh more than 10 pounds complete. :o As this wont be a walk around rifle it would be nice to have more weight to minimize recoil.

Is there anyway to add weight to the Duramaxx? The recoil pad looks glued on and the butt doesnt sound hollow. Is there another stock I should consider with more weight that doesn't cost $500? Other ways to minimize recoil?

Check out Sharp Shooter Supply. They make some nice stocks that would do well on a bipod and riding the bags. Brian Brown
