I have just recently purchased a savage 110 long action .270 from a friend. Mad dog told me it was a 1991 model. I am looking for any info on this gun i can get. And some good websites with stocks that will fit it. I am looking for a black synthetic stock or what your opinions may be. The factory stock i have now is not that bad, but it has some deep scratches. Thank you all for any info. E

The black syn stock leaves alot to be desired...

The older 110s have plenty of stock options.....just watch the ads or list a WTB LA wood stock..

I recently sold a RH LA laminated BSS stock for $100....

So your opinion is to stick with the factory stock? My wood stock is ok, i just thought i could shave a little weight and make it look better with the black stock.

A B&C Duramaxx would be an option to lighten it.

Do you have a link to one? i am new to looking up aftermarket parts for a rifle. Every rifle and shotgun i have are stock and i am just starting to read on the different stocks and triggers. Like i seen something about a timney trigger. Are those any good?

Timneys are better than the old 3 screw Savage original but the best is the one made and sold by SharpShooterSupply who advertises here. They also sell stocks of superior design but they wont save you any wgt., as well as aftermarket parts, especially a recoil lug far superior to the factory one.
