Hey 25ers,

Finally purchased an OAL gauge and measured for several .224" bullets I'm loading. Is it just me, or does the Model 25 have a rather tight/short chamber? One bullet I tried, a 63gr Sierra, wound up hitting the lands at an OAL of 2.185, which is well below where the load books generally call OAL (2.260) on average for a 63gr bullet.

Any similar experiences? I don't see this as any real issue; just trying to make sure I'm not crazy.

Thanks.

I don't have any reloading hardware/measuring instruments to check mine with, or else I would. maybe someone else will pop in. The model 25 seems to be the odd-ball, and this area doesnt get much traffic.

In my Model 25 LV-T in .223 Rem, a Sierra 60gr HP hits the lands at 2.329" OAL. Distance from base to where the ogive on that bullet contacts the lands is 1.962", measured with a Hornady OAL gauge and Hornady headspace gauge and verified with a dummy load. I haven't tried a heavier bullet yet.
