Have to build a pair of 6.5x55 AI's with light varmint/heavy sporter contour stainless aftermarket barrel blanks. Will be repeaters on Savage long actions. Easy 1000 yard caliber on hunting weight platforms.

Still kicking around that I "NEED" a 338 RUM. After building and helping to shoot my shooting buddy's 338 RUM, this caliber REALLY performs well with 300 gr SMK's and Retumbo. 2200 yards...just need practice and a Nightforce.

Have to finish working up the load(s) for the 222 magnum super deep AI - sorry, ran out of good weather and time.

Built a 280 Remington on a Savage that I have yet to shoot.

Since this sounds like everybody's dream list, I'll add mine. I have a Savage 112 Accu-Trigger that I bought in 30-06 and I love its quick-pointing sporter feel and relatively light weight. I reload it using everything from 110 gr Hornady V-Tips to 180 gr SST's. It has been my white-tail deer gun mounting a Swarovski 4.5 - 16 x 50mm scope on a one-piece Weaver rail that lets me see at dawn and dusk. Last year I got the re-barrel urge and, simultaneously, discovered the 338-06 cartridge. For '06 fans, this caliber is a magical mix of cartridge and bullet. There is something about the physics of an '06 cartridge that, when opened up to 338, hits a sweet spot in efficient use of powder. For example, my 338-06 sends a 200 gr SST downrange at 2900 fps, whereas the original 30-06 (.308) bullet is somewhere south of 2600 at that weight! Said another way, that old '06 brass, when propelling a 200 gr 338 bullet, is not far below the 300 WinMag in speed and equal in energy while using about 2/3 the powder. I now have a new deer gun, because the 200 gr 338-06 bullet at 2900 fps muzzle velocity means the whitetails are DIT, without any need to trail or search, like the fellows need to do with their 243's and the like. So, now to the 2012 question of a new gun: I have decided that the wide range of 6.5mm bullet choices will lead me toward another re-barrel of this same 112 as a 6.5-06 AI. It is an admittedly close call between this cartridge and a 270, and I excluded the 25-06 as being definitely on the lighter bullet end without much velocity payoff. The choice between the 270 and the 6.5-06 AI is simple - how many people do you meet who have a 270? Lots. How many people do you meet that have a 6.5-06 AI? None! QED! I am also contemplating adding a Boyd prairie stock to my 3-barrel rifle, although I have no complaints about the function of the cheap plastic stock it came with. I would be interested in comments about the 6.5-06 from anyone with experience.

the 338 build is moving along....next will be the 260; something midrange calibre is called for.

I have a .270 that needs some freshing up and I think I'll just switch it to a 6.5 x 55 because I've been wanting one for a while.

Well I really need a new pdog caliber. The dogs seem more ill tempered than I remember and the 300wm just doesn't feel like enough gun. ;D Maybe a 338 Edge. Or maybe just do a lighter 6.5-284 Norma for goats. Then again maybe a 300WSM on a long action. So easy to do just makes it hard to pick one and finish before you move on to something else.

maybe you need a good old .45-70 sharps LOL

I gonna do another 6x47 Lapua in a Savage bolt. I've gotten to REALLY like that round.

Got 3 AR builds going right now. 1 is going to be a 6.5 Grendel (nearly complete) and the other, a 223 Wylde.

The 3rd is still undecided but I'm leaning hard towards a 44 caliber wildcat similar to the 450 Bushmaster based on '06 brass.

I can't decide between a long barreled, medium tapered 7rsaum flinging 180s out of a rock creek barrel or building my new wife a great 243 or 6xc that I might sneak out of the house on Sundays for long range paper punching.

Finally taking my 7mm mag 110E that I changed to a 30-06 and building the 257 Weatherby that I bought the action for. The stock will be in (maybe) in 8 weeks and the barrel will be in 12 weeks from now. Will decide on what color Duracaot I am going to paint the action over the next several weeks. Barrel is a Criterion SS Varmint taper and stock is a Richards Microfit Wildcat in oak/walnut laminate.

Currently waiting on a 30-06 AI barrel, action, stock and optics are ready to go. If funds allow I also want to do a 6 BR Dasher.
A friend of mine built a dasher out of a rechambered 243 barrel and it really gives the pasture poodles some altitude.
