I just pulled the trigger and used my end of the year bonus and bought a Sightron SIII SS 8-32x56mm scope for my LR rifle, it cost more than my rifle and I have never spent more than $200 on a scope before. I am totally freaking out as that is a lot of money to me, I just hope that I bought a quality piece of glass for the money I spent.

Good for you! I'm sure you will be very pleased with it. As long as you're not depriving the wife and kids, don't worry about the money. You will enjoy that scope for many years to come, long after the price is forgotten. :)

Actually, I've been thinking about doing the same thing with a Viper PST.....????

I have a Viper but it just isn't enough magnification for the distances I am wanting to shoot, other than that I love my Vortex!

I hear ya! Last year when I ordered my VX3 6.5-20x40 LR, I was almost sick to my stomach that night. All other scopes I had were hand me downs or bought used. The first time you get that scope out you will feel better. A guy I Pdog hunt with has that same scope and its awesome! Congrats

I want that scope to put on my F/TR rig but don't want to dish out the change to get it. Let me know how you like it.

It sounds like money well spent. :)

I have no doubt that it will be a great scope or I would not have ordered it. I am just a cheap butt and have never spent that much money on anything in my life aside from school, a car and my house. I guess I am just having a little delayed sticker shock :0)

i was in the same boat as you this christmas i bit the bullet and bought the 10-50x60 sightron and it made a word of difference heres the proff first time i have managed to clean one and seeing the target as clear as i did was the major factor. thats 20rnds at 300yds on a mr63 target for f-class(the 2 dots are from a cmp shooter hitting my target )

I have more in optics on my guns than the cost of the gun itself. Optics are worth every penny!

I just pulled the trigger on a Vortex PST 4-16x50 FFP MRAD Illuminated. I can't believe the quality that's in this scope! No more Leupy's for me...

I've got the same scope and love it. The eye box became loose on the scope. I sent it back to Vortex in 5 days I had a brand new scope at no cost to me. Great customer service goes a long way anymore.

Not the best Bushnell, FWIW. It has resolution issues because of the 1" tube and the 40mm objective. I've yet to hear a bad thing about the SIII scopes.

i'm already saving up to replace the vortex i have on my 223 (crossfire 8-32x50)it hasn't let me down yet but after shooting with my sightron i can see the difference .they are worth the money as for the bushnell it is sitting in the safe as a back up for now i might put it on another 110 i picked up but i'm not sure what i want to do with that gun yet

Nice shooting!

I just bought this same scope today with a mil-dot reticule. Hoping it will be a good cross-use scope for F-class and LR/Tactical matches. It's going on my 6.5 Creedmoor LRP.

There is one BAD thing about buying a nice scope. It will forever ruin you with lesser quality scopes. Two years ago I couldn't imagine getting myself to drop more than 2 to 3 hundred on a scope. Now I have two 6.5-20 Leupold target scopes, three 24x Leupold target scopes and a couple 12x Leupolds. And now this big Sightron 10-50x60. Watch out... they multiply!

Its just first time jitters ;D The old lady gives me the look when I buy a new gun....Not because of what I spent on the gun but because she knows I'm gonna spend twice that much (or more) on the scope. I'm a sucker for good glass and a Sightron III is one reasonaly price piece of equipment!

did some praticing today also check just how the sightron tracks for quick shots on steel at 300yds. zero set for my 308 is 155gr amax mirage was a bit of a pain had to dail it down to 24 power but still shot a 196 6x ,then moved it up 3 clicks for the 168grmax shot zero'd with a 191-7x .then i played shot a combo of 155,168,178,190 knew the zero for each so i shot in 4 shot quick string with finishing up back at my turret zero for the 155's tracks perfect with a total group arounf 4" with 20 rnds in about 5min. i likey
