300 RUM action

Hi Guys,

Which of the Savage actions action can be used to build a .300 RUM and the magazine is long enough for this cartridge ?

A 7mm RUM or a 338 RUM.

Or, the most obvious answer and easier one to find. A 300RUM.

Hard part is the RUM actions are getting tough to find.

I'm just finishing a 338Edge build on an old 7mmRM action. I had to do some work with the dremel to get the 300g SMK's to fit.

I understand that the new Centerfeeds are easier to modify. Mostly just some modifications to the mag.

375 H&H actions will work as well. These uber magnum Savage actions don't last long on the open market.

The magazine port opening is longer on the RUM, and H&H actions than a regular long action.

You cannot take a RUM, or H&H magazine box and follower and install it on a regular long action.
