Farrell Bases

Anybody use Farrell bases ? Likes,Dislikes, Thinking of trying his base wanna know if you guys think they are worth the investment ? Thanks

Very pleased with the one I have. However, I can't say it is any better than the EGW I got for half the price of the Farrell base. Luck, Tim

I like my Ferrel bases, they have a section the is recessed for bedding material. I find that they are a top notch well made soild mount.

I don't know if the Farrell base is better than EGW or Weaver,but I have 3 Farrell bases on rifles and only 1 each of the other brands.The Weaver is also a nice 1pc base,and low priced.
I just installed the EGW on the action,and haven't mounted the scope yet,so I can't commit much on it.It fit the action well.

Have on on my LRPV, really nice base, worth the money to me. 20 MOA base.

I have one on a Tikka .308. No problems with it, it is a solid piece of steel and heavy. If I was gonna spend $100+ on a mount I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Farrell again.

They are very nice bases. I really like the ones for the target actions, which have no ejection port cutouts.

The EGW HD and Warne steel bases are also very nice for about $30-40 less, but they do sit a bit lower than the Farrell does.

I have had a farrell base on my 300win for 6 years has worked fine, but it was not picatinny specs so I had a friend open it up for my rings. I don't know if the newer ones are or not.

If you prefer this type of mount, you may want to look at Bench-Source mounts. Bench-Source makes VERY good quality mounts and their brass annealer is about the best on the market.

Although the Farrel is a excellent unit. I don't see the reason for needing a base that cost twice as much as a EGW HD.

The steel EGW's are as much or more than the Farrel's. I've got EGW's and Warne's. I really like the Warne's and they have worked well for me. I am considering getting a Farrel because I think they have tapered screws which helps in centering and keeping the base from sliding where as the Warne has flat bottom screws (fillister I think it's called). But I've always pushed my Warne's forward as far as they'll go before tightening down the screws to keep them from sliding under recoil and so far haven't had a problem.

So far Farrell is the only one I have found that makes not only 0 and 20 moa but also 10, 15, 30 and 40 moa bases.

I just got a Farrel FG Force with built in recoil lug and it looks pretty sweet. I got it because I thought I might try it on my 338. However, it already has the Warne on it which should be fine. I'm debating on whether to switch to the Farrel on this one or just test out the Warne and see how it does. I haven't had a Warne to fail yet but it has no recoil lug and the 338 is no slouch in the recoil department. I've got a Warne on a 300 win mag though and no problems with it. It seems that they're both pretty good! I couldn't afford to put a Farrel on every rifle I have though.

I have the egw hd base on my model 10 .308 and I think its an awesome base.
