Found another coyote that needed dead!

Sunday morning a friend and I were heading to Bass Pro shop.Saw this little dog trotting out in a big open field that another buddy of mine owns.All I had with me was a little marlin 17hmr,,it worked just fine.

nice, thats one way to save a coat.... where'd you shoot him at? and what kinda scope is that???

The shot weas just behind the shoulder on the side that is visible,no exit.He ran about 70 yards before having to stop to rest.The next one went in the base of the skull from directly behind at about 20 yards.The scope is an old BSA that amazingly still works and holds zero.

How far away on the first shot? What load was it? IU killed one with an HMR and the 20gr bullet, but it wouldn't be my first choice on a regular basis. In a case like yours, it worked. Some swear by the little 17 but I am not one of them.
