I prefer the 2 tone also, mine is a stainless LW barrel and silver scope on a blued action/barrel nut.

for the switch barrel operator,

has anyone blued the sides of their aftermarket stainless steel recoil lug, then it would match the action and you could have a blued and stainless barrel nut to go with the appropriate barrel.

It's a savage called a tigershark model 12abt I think not to many made from what I was told . I love the wood making the trigger guard all one piece.

Pdog06 what kind of stock is on the first gun love it and what kind of finest is it

That is a B&C Duramax in their "freedom green" pattern. They are very nice stocks for only costing around $130.

You could send everything to H&M Metals for ferritic nitro carberizing. The gun will have a permanent matching color, it will shoot cooler, faster and the bore will last up to three times as long. Did I mention it is more rust resistant than chrome. There is currently a thread at the top of the aftermarket barrel forum on the subject. It is what I will be dooing with all my new builds after I have fired the recomended 20 shots down the barrel.

I have seen a couple where the blue was removed and the metal polished to a high shine.

Thanks, for all the reply's/Advice. I just finished my first build up and i decided to just leave it ss barrel, a blue nut, a ss recoil lug and a blue action. This is mainly due to all of your influences, so you guys should feel accomplished!

I have started break in with my new 7mm-08 CBI barrel from NSS, and it has been great. Ragged holed groups so far.

Here is a picture of it.

As for nitro carberizing I'm not all the way sold yet, maybe on my next barrel/build. Also with some more feedback from the process maybe it will help my decision.

Thanks for all the information. I still would like to know what processes any one used for removing blue or polishing.
