Got my new Savage 92r17 sighted in tonight with come CCI 17gr ammo. Got a good 1inch grouping in the bullseye. Loaded up some Hornady 17gr ammo, group was an inch low and an inch to the left. Tried CCI ammo, back into center.

I'm pretty new to target shooting (used to hunt years ago) but this seems odd to me. Is this normal for different ammo to be that off at 100 yards?

What ammo are finding to me most accurate in your 93?

BTW, I had 2 misfires with the Hornady ammo. Weird, thought is was good ammo?

For me going between Hornday 17g v-max and cci 17 gr FMJ the point of impact changes 2-4" at 100 yards. So yes it is normal and some ammo's move more than others. What your gun likes to shoot best is up to your gun. Almost all like something different best. Mine likes 17gr v-max and my cuz's likes cci 20gr game points.

Mine likes the 20gr XTP better than the 17gr Hornady VMax.

I have a Bushnell Banner on it now. The recticle is a little big, but seems to have pretty good glass.

I'll shoot the rest of the CCI, see how it does. Then tune for the Vmax. I think the Vmax is a little tighter group so far.
