I finally got to pick one up at the gun shop and it was the thumb hole stock. I have been curious about these and I love the side safety versus the one on top. It felt real good.
My question is to ones who have one or know someone who has one....Do you or they like it and what groups are you or they getting consistently?
I would get it in the 204?
THANKS

I have one with standard stock 223 using a 5x20 scope I'm getting .250-.450 groups at 100 yards using Laupa brass,H322 and 52 Berger bullets, super good accuracy in my opinion more consistent then my savage 12 heavy barrel in 223. My only complaint is at the bench bolt is hard to lift may work in as I shoot more but for the price it is a hard gun to beat.

Just sold my model 25/.204 cal. a few days ago, since I did'nt shoot it much anymore[shooting my LRPV/.243 more].
I reloaded my own ammo, and was getting so really tight groups 1/8"-"1/2 at 100yds, pretty much all the time.
The model 25, in .204 is a flat, accurate shooter in the right hands.
after first of the year, probably going to build a LRPV clone in .204, like my .243

Hello Everyone, I have the model 25 with the standard laminated stock. I bought mine in 223. I got mine in 223 because of the availibility of ammunition. So far I have shot 55gr and 62gr ammo, both are factory loads. As far as groups, I need to take mine to the range a few more times, so I can find the load the rifle likes best. The paper that came with the rifle said it was tested using 69gr Federal. I guess my question for you all is, with the rifles twist rate being 1&9, what would be the best weight bullet to use, or start with, for serious groups. I am looking to have the best hunting groups possible with this rifle. I bought it to use for coyote hunting. I must also say that I realy like this rifle. This one makes my 3rd Savage..Ray
