Going to look at a Savage 112 in 22-250, any pitfalls to look out for? I already have a 110 J model so I know to look out for the first gen short action with the 4.52 bolt spacing. Look forward to your advise.

Well I picked it up and it is a single shot 22-250, marked Savage 112 on the barrel with a tupperware stock and fluted stainless heavy barrel, no accu trigger. Serial number F416206, any help or info please?

Sounds like the same barrel I am working up a load for now. First get a real trigger for it (I am shooting SSS) then a stock of your choice or spend time messing with that one and go shoot it. Still haven't changed seating depths and it shoots 4-round groups under 1/4 MOA. I am using Sierra #1345 and Nosler 50gr Ballistic-tips and can't tell which it likes better. What else would you like to know?

Thanks, my loading bench is in the process of being replaced with something much I hope is much better.

Would the single shot 112 action be considered a target action? Also any idea of the date of manufacture? (S/N: F416206)

Check Mad-dog's sticky under this section for dating. I am guessing it has the chrome emblem on the grip cap of the stock and is probably mid nineties
