I have 6 Savage M10/12s and 4 of them won't eject cases-just drops them on top of the mag.
I have replaced the extractor(have tried multiple extractors), extractor spring, replaced the extractor ball with a larger .140" ball, and replaced the ejector springs.
Some of these are hunting rifles that I NEED to have a functional ejector.
Calibers are 20 Vartarg (with shortened blind magazine), and 223 AI.
Any other suggestions?
I hate to have to buy a Creminington.

Are you sure the bolt head isn't turned 180 degrees so the brass is being pushed away from the ejection port?
... and yes, I speak from personal experience. ::) I admit to having done that once and then wondering why nothing would eject.

Does the speed of opening the bolt change how it ejects?

On some of mine if I open it quickly they fly out, if I open it slowly they drop.

Thomae: I did find one that was reversed to the 11 oclock position instead of the 5 oclock! Interesting lil tidbit! Guess i installed that one bassackwards!
Terry-The speed of the bolt operation makes no difference in ejections.
82boy-haven't tried that, but may as a last resort.

Anyone else?

Just went through the same thing. Decided to try the filing of the ejector but wanted a spare before doing so. Ordered one through Brownells. When I opened the pkg the new ejector already had the new profile. I installed that along w/ a new spring (which also seemed to be stronger). If I open the bolt slowly then the case stays in the action. If i open the bolt quickly it throws it out. I had done the extractor stuff earlier and hadn't had any success. The ejector seemed to be the key for me but I suspect the extractor helps too. Good luck.
