Well more than one really. My daughter wanted to see real live elk for a change instead of mounts. So I took her on a day trip to Estes Park. Found a few nice ones that I wouldn't mind finding on public land some day.

I had a great time with the kid shooting animals with the Olympus!

Cant beat a day out just admiring the beasts! They sure are amazing.

I'm moving to Georgia (Ft. Benning area) next month and I am pretty sad to leave Colorado. I do a lot of hiking and fly fishing in the Estes Park area and in RMNP. A person could spend a lifetime fishing in Rocky Mountain National Park and never see it all. Pretty amazing scenery and wildlife.

Nice photos!

Another great place I love to go see elk is the game reserve at Jackson Hole, WY. It's been a couple years since I have been there and one or two photos do not do it justice. The majority of the elk in Yellowstone National Park and Teton National park come into this reserve in the wintertime. They are as thick as sheep out there on the field. The last time I was there they had sleigh rides that would take you out in the middle of these elk. You would get almost close enough to touch them before they would move out of the way.

Hope this picture works because I can never really remember how to post pictures here.

Awesome pictures! I really like the unique antlers on the bull in the bottom picture right behind the first bull. The look like they have begun to palmate.

Thanks for adding your pictures to the post!

Here is some more pictures of some elk we caught laying in an old cornfield on the way home.

Plus, I had to stop on the way home so my daughter could take a picture of this ostrich in a back yard.
