Anyone converted a DBM to a blind mag? I just purchased a SA CF receiver, which is a DBM and I'm finding very few stocks for a Savage DBM - at least not too many in my price range. I'm thinking about converting it - anyone done it and what do I need to go about making the conversion?
Thanks....

what kind of stock are you looking for? i just purchased a hogue stock for 99 bucks and it was a dbm. if you are looking for a wood or laminate stock i dont know where to find one. but i am pleased with the hogue.....only down side i see is it is flimsy at the for grip so shooting off a bi pod might cause the stock to touch the barrel. hs precision also sells dbm stocks but they are arouund 300.00

If you would like to change to the blind mag, all you will need is the stock for centerfeed blind mag with 4.4" spacing, and the little L clip that holds the mag in the stock. You can probably get this from SSS or directly from savage for very little money. The Bottom of your DBM will just pop off, and the remaining mag frame and follower will be held into the blind mag stock by the L clip I mentioned before.

If you do convert yours to a blind mag, i am looking for a dbm bottom metal, if it is the right model i would be interested in yours.

You can get blind magazine hunting type stocks form Boyds in lamiante or walnut to fit a centerfeed for under $100. they are drop in stocks no fitting needed and you can get them checkered for an extra $50. The laminates come in a lot of color schemes. They have 3 styles available for Savage, one is a thumbhole. I use them and like them. They DO NOT have sniper or other cool styles for Savage.
