Have a 99F serial number 1035xxx. Cal 308 Need to know rifling twist and what grain bullet to use. Thanks in advance

Can't recall offhand - probably 10 or 12. They are fine with 150-170 grain bullets

Most all rifle companies used the 10 twist in their rifles, as it is the most popular twist With Deer hunting loads 150-180 are probably the most used weight for most 308 caliber rifles. A 12 twist would be best suited with 110-150 bullets. Good Luck Lou

Nice that it lists the 99 as having 10 and 12 twist in 308!

When I had a 99 in .308 it shot very well with 168 gr. bullets, forget the powder I used. Most groups were a little over MOA. Not bad for a lever action. Wish I had that sucker back. I sold it when I acquired my fathers Model 88 Winny in .308. Not as accurate but good enough for woodland hunting.
