Read a little about the 35 Rem conversion and that it would cost as much as just buying another rifle. I want a Hornet and have a Model 11 with .308 bolt face. I would get a single shot adapter for the mag, the barrel and bolt face would be the most expensive parts. Anybody tried something similar? I know all I need for 22-250 is a barrel, but want a Hornet. ...Or should I just get a Model 25 or CZ 527?

I'd get the model 25, but that's just me.

35 rem isn't rimmed.

I would go with a 25 or 40 if you want a hornet or look at the CZ (that set trigger is pretty nice!).

Really? Hmmm thought it was a 30-30 necked up to 35 (rimmed not belted). Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the reply though. I'll have to keep searching for a nicely priced CZ or a smoking deal on a 25.

ETA: Found it...more differences between the thuddy-thuddy and 35 than I realized. Sure am glad I haven't given up on learning. :)
